I must admit that Comaco Toys Direct has not generally gone in for more girl orientated toys in the past. As a male and the principal buyer I have tended to purchase things that would have appealed to me when I was younger, and the fact that I have two sons and no daughters has compounded this further. In fact I once had a long conversation with a rep from one of our suppliers who argued that girls’ toys were generally a weakness in the industry as so many buyers were men. I think far too often there is a tendency to assume that anything pink or fluffy will do.

This range of Monster High dolls is a little bit different in that, although they are feminine and fashion conscious, they are far from cute and conventional.
